Rochford Wines together with Rob Potts Entertainment Edge wass thrilled to co-present Telstra Road to Tamworth on Saturday, 20th October. As one of only five venues in Australia to feature an all-star concert line up, this event will also feature Heat #16 in this famous country music talent quest.
This eight-hour concert and competition day, features some of Australia’s finest musical talent, including country music stars Lee Kernaghan, Adam Harvey, Steve Forde, Mike Carr, Morgan Evans, and Briana Lee.
The concert incorporates Heat #16 of the TRTT competition, with 12 country music hopefuls getting the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase their talent and compete for the Heat Winner’s prize of a trip to the 2008 Tamworth Country Music Festival, the chance to win a recording contract, and a trip to Nashville, Tennessee in the USA.
Concert headliner, Lee Kernaghan has dominated the charts with successive hit albums including Three Chain Road, 1959, Hat Town, and Electric Rodeo, making him Hit Maker of the Decade, and creating a new musical landscape along the way. He has done to country music in Australia what Garth Brooks did in the USA…he blurred the line and took country music out of the box that it had existed in for decades…he added a spectacular live show and along the way has sold over one million albums, won twenty Golden Guitars, three Aria Awards, twenty-one Number 1 Hits and seven hit albums. Now, with the release of his 8th album, The New Bush, he’s done it again, and his stellar career continues.
Adam Harvey is the biggest voice in Australian country music. As TRTT Ambassador, Adam says, “The Telstra Road to Tamworth is a fantastic program which gives young aspiring country music artists a real head start in the industry and I’m proud to be associated with it.” Driven by his commitment to keeping the music honest, the support of an industry that acknowledges his natural attributes and a massive, dedicated fan base, Adam’s career has many defining moments including Gold status for his debut album Workin’ Overtime in 2002 and Gold status for his latest album Can’t Settle for Less.

The Telstra Road to Tamworth (TRTT) talent quest is regarded by the music industry as the biggest, best, and most highly sought after country music prize in Australia.
The TRTT is a truly unique competition that offers two aspiring country music artists industry support and tools required for launching a successful professional career as a country music star.
This year’s heats will also see the introduction of live judging. Contestants will immediately learn their competition fate on the night of the performance with judges evaluating singing, either in person or live online over Telstra’s Next GM™ and BigPond networks.
