Featuring The John Butler Trio, Lior, Clare Bowditch and the Feeding Set plus The Crooks. This was a fantastic line-up for the ‘a day on the green’ concert at Rochford on Sunday March 9th under the banner “The Union of Soul”.
The John Butler Trio are enjoying extraordinary appeal, currently riding on their new album ‘Grand National’ debuting at No.1 on the Aria charts last year and reaching double platinum sales in Australia. This album was also nominated for Triple J’s album of the year. They are also making incredible in-roads internationally.
This concert also featured Lior performing his rootsy mix of styles that hark back to the lyric and melody, evocative of soul in its truest sense. He has crafted a live show that has him regularly touted as one of Australia’s finest new talents.
Clare Bowditch and the Feeding Set will complete this fabulous line-up. Clare returns to Rochford, having well and truly staked her claim as one of Australia’s best singer/songwriters, winning the 2006 Best Female Artist with her stunning ‘What Was Left’ album.
Hell bent on fat resonator tones and foot stompin beats
The CROOKS manage to get across the message in their music that
"Life ain't too serious".
There music is engaging, good time tunes, with a big twist of
dirt bag. The music speaks with honesty about people, opinions
and life, without social conformity.
Having these popular and well travelled bands performing on the same stage ensured another memorable ‘a day on the green’ at Rochford.
