Light to mid straw in colour will a green edge. The nose is complex showing stone fruit and fig characters combined with toasty oak. The palate is rich and creamy with a good depth of flavour. The acid adds length to the long clean finish.

Winemaking Notes
After crushing and pressing the juice was cold settled to a bright condition. The racked juice was divided with 27% being tank fermented and 73% barrel fermented in conditioned French oak barrels. The tank ferment portion received a short period of yeast lees contact while the barrel component remained on yeast lees of 9 months. The wine was bottled in February 2007.
Viticultural Notes
The 2006 Rochford Latitude Chardonnay is produced from grapes grown in the Yarra Valley (76%) and Macedon Ranges (24%).
The early part of the 2005/2006 growing season was warm to hot but this changed quickly in mid March to being very cool and showery. This weather persisted for the balance of the ripening period. The result was extended ripening for the Macedon Ranges component with good flavour development but slightly lower acidy than normal.
